DigiShakti: Digital Empowerment of Women

DigiShakti, DST’s flagship program on Digital Empowerment program was launched to address these challenges faced by our community women and equip them with basic digital literacy skills to enable Digital Financial Inclusion and has reached out to more than 1000 urban and rural women in Maharashtra!
Sonia Garcha's abstract on "Digishakti" was selected for the WCDC2019 (World Community Development Conference) at Dundee. One of the important takeaways from the presentation was “You may have a Porsche parked in your garage but what use is it if you cannot drive it” on the importance of adaptation of digital technology by the grassroot communities.
Digishakti gained even more relevance during COVID-19 to share relevant schemes, needs assessment and more importantly, a tool to stay connected with the communities we work with. Sharing the article published in IACD Global Pratice Insights

Digitally empowered women have overcome their fear of technology and developed a comfort and ease in using digital technology in personal, social and economic spheres of life, have access to information thereby saving time and costs. Going ahead the empowered women can transform challenges into opportunities accelerating socio-economic development through active participation in the Digital India revolution!
